Years ago, i read in a magasine an article about a woman who wanted to help new moms in a very poor american city. Although she would see filth, empty alcool bottles, dirty diapers beside the overflowing garbage can and smelly crying babies, the first thing she was told to ask the harassed mom was: how can i help? Somehow, this phrase, this attitude, always stayed with me. It takes humility to help. Ask anyone who has just manage to put back the jar of brown sugar on the top shelf, only to have her helpful, and tall, husband give it back to her saying: let me get that for you, dear. Paule
